Right on the heels of Denon’s DN-HC1000S announcment, Native Instruments launches Traktor Kontrol X1. Like the 1000S, I would have preferred a horizontal unit to put above my mixer, not to the right or left.

Denon DJ will be introducing a total of eight new products at the forthcoming PLASA show in September. This will include the DN-S700 CD/MP3 player; DN-HC5000 and HC1000S media controllers, DN-HP500 headphones and DN-X1700 digital mixer.

Traktor Pro is great software with a disgusting amount of MIDI custom features like the modifier. I’m working on a Custom MIDI Mapper for the DN-HC4500 and Traktor Pro.

The DN-S3700 is a full on assault on the Pioneer CDJ range, for this old hack, it wins hands down. The platter alone would be enough for many DJs, but the enhanced loops and cues, USB support, database and ID3 tags with wave forms and MIDI makes the DN-S3700 a clear leader in the single CD deck market.
