Updated 7/28/2010: I fixed the PDF.

The Hot Start/Looping section had 3 things connected to the parameter button/knob. Deleted and Added:
• [Flip] + [Title] = Moves Loop 1 Bar Backward
• [Cont./Single] = Multiply Loop by 2
• [Flip] + [Cont./Single] = Moves Loop 1 Bar Forward

COREMANS, I answered this for ace back on 3/19/10. Because the MIDI on the 3700 is very similar to the 4500, most of the MIDI commands will work. These buttons on the 3700 will probably not work because the 4500 doesn’t have them.
• Spinning Platter
• CLR1, CLR2, CLR3
• Auto Loop Set
• A Loop, B Loop
• A/B Trim
• Next Track
• CD, USB, MIDI
• Key Adjust
• Brake, Dump, Reverse
• Effect Knob
• FWD, Both
• Loop Trim buttons
• Echo Loop, Flanger, Filter

The 3700 has more buttons so it will make for a better MIDI controller.

From my post on 6/16/10, I've been able to successfully get spinning platter to work on the DN-S3700. It's not as precise as I would like it though.

Wyley had this to say <a href="http://www.denondjforums.com/forum/index.php?f=50&t=12628&sid=e8ab5544cfb131dacfb3c7698f9507fe&rb_v=viewtopic&start=324" rel="nofollow">here</a>:
"NI has been working on their own language for controllers such as a

"Bi-directional communication with TRAKTOR via Native Instruments’ high resolution protocol gives the hardware a smoother and more precise feel compared to regular MIDI controllers". (courtesy of NI's website)

NI did say on record that they do not know which update will address platter support, but it is coming (Traktor on record sessions) I know they want a couple of motorized platter controllers under their belt.

A firmware update from denon using NI's language might be a possibility.

Maybe when Denon says something big is coming it could feature a number of upgrades instead of just one. :D

I guess the dj expo will tell us all what's going on."

DJ.HSena, shouldn't you be using the latest<a href="http://mackingmusic.blogspot.com/2010/05/portable-virtual-dj-61-pro-multilingual.html" rel="nofollow"> VDJ v6.1</a>. They've added better audio, MIDI assignable, new skin engine, a lot of controller support, and bug fixes.

Make sure you have the latest Firmware SYS 1006 (August 2009) for the DN-HC4500 and the latest ASIO (both links found above in original post).

VDJ 5 will not work correctly with the latest SYS 1006 firmware, you have to download the full version.

Download MIDI-OX 7.0 and MIDI Yoke NT 1.75 from here http://www.midiox.com/

Install MIDI-OX 7.0 license as Personal Use.

To install MIDI Yoke on Windows 7, you first have to disable UAC (User Account Control) Set it down to Never Notify and reboot. Go to Start/ Search Programs/ Type UAC. Make sure you are logged on as an administrator.

Once MIDI-OX and MIDI Yoke is installed, open MIDI-OX. Go to Options/ MIDI Devices.../
MIDI Inputs: HC1000S
MIDI Outputs: MIDI Yoke Channel 1.

That's it. Leave MIDI-OX running in the background and Launch SSL 2.1. Your DN-HC1000S LED's will still light up. However, none of the buttons will work until you program them. Select MIDI on the top of Scratch Live, select a button you want to Map, then hit the button on the HC1000S.

To get the knob to work for selecting tracks or selecting loops, select MIDI in SSL, select the Track Knob, turn the PM knob to assign it, then hit the letter C until it is RELATIVE on/off.

To get the Shift button to work, you need to open your xml file with notepad.
C:\Users\JJ\Music\ScratchLIVE\MIDI\AUTO_SAVE.xml
midi>
Modifier name="Shift Modifier 1" event_type="Note On" channel="1" control="1" />
Control name="Cue Point Button A0" channel="1" event_type="Note On" control="8" />
Control name="Clear Cue Point Button A0" channel="1" event_type="Note On" control="8" <strong>on_modifier="Shift Modifier 1"</strong> />
/midi>
I removed the < bracket at the beginning to every line above so it will display here. I don't know what the actual Control Number or Channel Number are for the Shift button on the HC1000 because I don't have one. I tried this on my DN-HC4500 and it works great.
